Atlanta Braves – Truist Park

Last summer we were in Georgia for a baseball tournament that Logan was playing in so we decided to go see an Atlanta Braves game. The Braves were playing the Los Angeles Angels and we were excited to see Shohei Ohtani and to visit Truist Park for the first time.

We drove to the ballpark and got there pretty early so we found parking in a parking garage in The Battery. We parked in “Red Parking” and had about a two minute walk to the stadium.

We had plenty of time before the game started so we walked around The Battery for a while. There is a Braves Clubhouse store and a Mizuna store that we decided to check out. The restaurants were pretty full, but The Battery wasn’t so crowded that it was uncomfortable to walk around.

We didn’t have tickets so we went to the Ticket Office windows located on the corner of Battery Avenue and the main plaza directly across from the Coca-Cola Roxy. I was given a military discount and, since it was a very hot day in July, we got seats that were in the shade.

We had a good view and it really was a beautiful field.

We did some exploring and checked out Monument Garden. This is where the Hank Aaron statue, Braves memorabilia, and even the Commissioner’s Trophy that the Braves received when they won the 2021 World Series are located. Monument Garden is located on the main concourse behind home plate.

The Atlanta Braves have one of the coolest kid’s areas I’ve seen at a ballpark and it’s called Hope and Will’s Sandlot. It is located in sections 152- 155 and has a rock climbing wall, a zipline, and carnival games. Logan is too old for kid’s areas now, but he would have loved this when he was younger.

The Angels won the game 9-1. The crowd was taken out of the game immediately when the Angels started the game with a five-run 1st inning. Shohei Ohtani went 0-4 and Mike Trout wasn’t in the lineup. The Braves and Angels each used five pitchers so the game was slow and not very exciting, but we enjoyed it anyway.
