National Park Passport Book

Before our National Park road trip I read about the National Park Passport Book and thought it was a pretty cool souvenir. You can order one online before your trip or purchase one at most National Park Visitor Centers. To order a Passport Book, click here. Books are around $13 to $20. You can also purchase a book on Amazon.

National Park Passport Book

The Passport Book is broken down by geographical regions and color coded so it’s easy to find a page for the ink stamp from the National Park you’re visiting.

National Park Geographical Regions

The rubber-stamp ink markings record the name of the park and the date of your visit.

Bryce Canyon Ink Stamps

The ink stamps are located in most visitor centers and you stamp your book yourself.

Ink Stamp Station

If you forget to take your National Park Passport Book with you, each ink stamp station has some plain paper available to stamp so you can transfer it to your passport book later. I forgot to take my book with me when we visited Mount Rushmore so I got my ink stamp on blank paper and put it in my passport book when I got home.

Mount Rushmore Ink Stamp

When we visited Canyonlands, the visitor center was closed so I was unable to get an ink stamp. If this happens to you, you can send a request for an ink stamp with a self addressed, stamped envelope to the park’s visitor center. Usually, the center will send you an ink stamp on blank paper so you can transfer it to your passport book.

The National Park Passport Book has tons of information on the region you are visiting. I highly recommend getting a passport book either online or at a National Park Visitor Center. I love all the information in the book and getting ink stamps at each national park is a lot of fun and a great souvenir.
