San Francisco Giants – Oracle Park

While we were in San Francisco, we decided to go see the Giants play the Milwaukee Brewers at Oracle Park. When we were there, the ballpark was still called AT&T Park. From our hotel on Market Street, we took the San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni) to the ballpark. We took the N Judah train to the platform at King & 2nd Street which is next to Oracle Park. It took less than fifteen minutes to get there.

We were in San Francisco in June and the day we went to the game, the temperature was around 60 degrees. That was pretty comfortable for us, but a lot of people were bundled up with winter coats, hats and scarves. Since we went to a day game, the ballpark wasn’t packed.

The view at Oracle Park is the best in baseball. It is absolutely breathtaking! McCovey Cove, where boaters hang out in the hopes of catching a home run ball, is an amazing sight. McCovey Cove is the unofficial name of a section of San Francisco Bay beyond the right field wall of Oracle Park and is named after famed Giants first baseman Willie McCovey.

Oracle Park has a place for kids to play called Fan Lot. It is located on the Promenade Level, above the left field bleachers and is an interactive play area for kids. Children can “slide into home plate” from one of the four slides and check out the world’s largest baseball glove.

Oracle Park also has the Toyota Fan Zone. It is a 50-by-50-foot replica of Oracle Park designed for kids. It has an infield, bases, and outfield. When we there, they had a catcher made out of legos.

Oracle Park also has a replica San Francisco street car.

We haven’t been to all the MLB ballparks, but I can’t imagine one that has more beautiful scenery than Oracle Park.

Oracle Park

We absolutely loved watching the Giants at Oracle Park. The food was good, there were things for kids to do, the people were nice, it was easy to get to, and the view is the best in baseball.
