Springdale, Utah

We spent a couple of nights in Springdale, Utah because this is where Zion National Park is located. We stayed at an adorable hotel called the Bumbleberry Inn.

The Bumbleberry Inn is centrally located in Springdale (on Zion Park Boulevard) and was a great place to stay. The first evening there we walked to a nice restaurant called Oscar’s Cafe. It was a Mexican restaurant, we sat outside on the patio, and the food, service and scenery were great.

After dinner, we walked around Springdale. We did some shopping and especially liked Simply Birkenstock and Springdale Candy Company.

We also really liked the Bumbleberry Gift Shop and Bakery which is located just across the parking lot from the Bumbleberry Inn.

We had been on the road for about a week so we did some laundry in the Bumbleberry Inn laundry room. The front desk was very accommodating in giving us change for the machines.

One of the great things about the Bumbleberry Inn is that you are given vouchers for free breakfast at a restaurant called Porter’s. We had our choice of anything on the menu and the food was delicious. Porter’s was a great little restaurant and was just across the parking lot from the hotel.

Another great thing about the Bumbleberry Inn is that it is a shuttle stop for the Springdale Line. You can drive to the Zion park entrance and park, but private vehicles are not allowed in Zion National Park during the shuttle season so you must take the shuttle once inside the park. Taking the Springdale Line shuttle to the park was much faster than driving because there was a bit of a backup to get to the Zion park entrance and shuttles are able to bypass the line.

The Springdale Line has stops at various hotels in Springdale and will take you directly to the Zion park entrance. The Zion Canyon Line shuttle will take you to any of the 9 stops within the park. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for a shuttle to arrive.

We spent one full day at Zion National Park and it was incredible. To read all about our time at Zion, click here.

We left the park in the early evening and took the Springdale Line shuttle back to our hotel. Logan and Lindsay went to Ebikes Zion and rented electric bikes. Half-day rental is just over $100 per bike. Riding the E bikes all over Springdale was one of their favorite things on our entire trip.

Logan and Lindsay went to dinner at Whiptail Grill, right on Zion Park Boulevard, and it was their favorite restaurant of our 3 week trip.

Tom and I went to dinner at Jack’s Sports Grill on Zion Park Boulevard. It was good, but not great.

We walked around Springdale the rest of the evening and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

After another free breakfast at Porter’s, we checked out of the Bumbleberry Inn and headed out of Springdale via the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. This is a beautiful drive!

Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway

This highway takes you through the 1 mile Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel. We enjoyed Zion National Park and Springdale, Utah so much, but we were headed to our next destination, Bryce Canyon.
